Magento Developers: United

For an open source e-commerce solution, Magento has made life more interesting (and more challenging) for web developers everywhere. Constantly changing and evolving code, administration, and file structure means we always need to stay on top of our game to get the most for our clients.

Additionally, there are certain functionalities which are so basic it is always surprising to find out that they are not part of the basic Magento set up. Before throwing our hands up in frustration and tearing out a few more strands of hair, we take a deep breath and remember that this is part of the great open source world. It's exciting, we remind ourselves, we're on the great frontier of the new world... But how do we solve [insert huge problem here].

The answer is almost always found written out by some other caring web developer who walked our path before us, and wants to save us some of the hours of bang-your-head-against-the-wall trial and error. We are a community, and we look out for each other.
